The True Cost Challenge- Hurdle 1

Bugger. My 'True Cost' challenge this month has really been about thinking more about where my clothes come from and the 'true cost' for humanity and for the environment of the choices that I was making. Honestly I'm being doing really well. I'm not going to lie and say that in the last 9 days … Continue reading The True Cost Challenge- Hurdle 1

The True Cost- Wardrobe Audit Part 1

Challenge: The True Cost I’ve seen it now. I can’t ignore it. So what can I do about it? I don’t subscribe to the theory that one person can’t make a difference. Commercial companies whether that be milk producers, juice bars or clothing brands are there to make money. So I vote with my dollar. … Continue reading The True Cost- Wardrobe Audit Part 1

May Challenge: ‘The True Cost’

#1- ‘The True Cost’ Day 1, Month 1, Challenge 1 Documentary: The True Cost   Admittedly, when I declared I was going to do this challenge and try to find a take-away nugget to improve my life from the hours of mindlessly consumed Netflix content I was devouring, it seemed like a win win. Taper traditions! Tarawera themed nails and donuts! Pretty ferns, the All Blacks and some little white trail love! So cute! Trust the training! Ultra marathon running explained…. 15 days until my first 100 miler, actually it’s 165km but who’s counting! 18 days until Tarawera, 20k run today, some with the pups and some on my own. Shit is getting real. Had a go at the 28k at Two Bays for the first time today, didn’t really have the best time with over 1300 people crammed onto a single track. Struggled to get any sort of rhythm or consistency going with all the Congo lines, bottle necks and over taking, but it was good to see so many people out and about and to put another long ish run in the bank before New Zealand. Like everyone else I’ve been looking at the calendar and looking at what goals I have for 2023, what holidays I want to take, races I want to do, but I’m still kinda getting over the glamour of the last one! Happy New Year! You know I spent way too much time playing with this!
